Dear Theo, executive summary query yet again! Sorry.

    1) I can bullet point the simple and straightforward bits 'Class teaching a variety of year groups', 'Teaching EAL and BME children'. But how on earth do I give a bullet point answer to 'Forging good relationships with parents, colleagues and other agencies'? Just say something like 'Everyone likes me'?

What about 'A desire and commitment to making teaching and learning enjoyable'? Surely this needs a waffly answer?

    2) As the instructions for the application itself are taking me the two pages, the exec summary is the only place I will be showing how I meet the person spec, so I need to be full yet efficient with space. The person spec is enormous! As it is an AHT position is it permissible to go over the two pages for the application and onto two pages for the summary?

Thank you...and the closing date is Sunday, so hopefully only another week of answering nonsense from me!

Minnie - there may come a moment when I shall give you the typical Middlemarsh answer: if you can't work this out yourself, you are not ready for the move up . . .
I would say something like this:
Effective professional relationsgips with families, teachers and other professionals.
Developed a cross-curricular unit on World Cup football for year 5.
There are no rules, you can make it as long or short as you like. But the ability to prioritise and discern what is important is a plus in a SLT person.
    Best wishes

Well yes but if I work it out myself I might be wrong. If I ask you and you are wrong I can sulk! See?!
Besides asking for help from an expert when doing something for the very first time is a good leadership strategy surely?

Ahhhh but I am good at prioritising when it is only me to consider. Trying to second guess someone else's priorities is the bit I am still working on.

But thank you for your patience and replies...I am more or less there now. Might even send the thing in early.

Nopes, but given what made you ask, I think I'd find her very sensible.
