Dear Theo- executive summary - Essential/Desirable

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by pastychucker, Jan 20, 2012.

  1. Dear Theo,
About to apply for a job and I am going to do an executive summary. My question is about the essential/desirable qualities on the person spec. I know I don't fulfill all the desirable qualities but I definately fulfill all the essential qualities. I'm just kind of in a quandry about how to approach this on the executive summary. Do I list all the desirable qualities and only say how I fulfill some of them or do I just list the ones that I fulfill?
    Any suggestions welcome.

Never ever in an exec summary prove clearly that you do NOT comply with their criteria!
    So:
    is a no go.
If there are only a few desirables that you cannot meet, then just put in the others. If there are loads, then don't put in any of them.
The idea is to sell yourself, so the finished product must look good.
You've missed by a hair's breadth going to one of our Win That Teaching Job seminars tomorrow, but there's another on February 25th
