Dear Theo - Exec Summary quick questions

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by DR82, Feb 14, 2012.

  1. Dear Theo,
Having looked over previous threads on this, can you just confim that you are allowed to omit bits from the schools person Spec as it'll already be on the application form? Or is it best to not amend at all?
And if one of their requirements is "enthusiastic" or "ability to inspire others" for example, how can i show this on the exec summary? I've tried to show how enthusiastic I am in the supporting statement!

Well, since an exec summary is not an officially required document, you can do what ever you want! But certainly if you are short of space, then omitting, for example, your qualifications, makes sense.
If you want more help with writing an executive summary, then we devote a whole hour to this on the Win That Teaching Job seminar - next one Feb 25th - see below.
    Best wishes

I do Application and Interview one-to-ones, and also contribute to the Job Application Seminars. We look at application letters, executive summaries and interviews, with practical exercises that people really appreciate.
I shall be doing the Win That Teaching Job seminar on Saturday February 25th, and also the Moving into Headship or SLT seminar on Saturday 17th March.
