Dear Theo- email resignation?

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by MrsBauer, May 29, 2011.

  1. Hi Theo,
I have a new job starting Sept. I told my school at Christmas that I would be leaving (poss easter or summer) and my head knew I had a job before we broke up last week.
I forgot to hand in my letter and am worried that there will be problems with this (even though the parents and children know I am leaving and there are plans- although no one appointed- to replace me).
Can I email my letter? Do you have any advice for me on this?
    Thanks

Last resignation date is 31st, so can you hand deliver it tomorrow or Tues.?

    E-mail is a possibility.
If so, e-mail it to the Head.
Then do another e-mail (don't put it in the same one) and then send that to the Head's secretary.
Then do 2 screen prints of your outbox showing that they were sent.
That way you will have less chance of the e-mail getting lost, and proff that yoiu sent it.
Then put one of the screen prints in envelope with the letter, and post it. It may get there after 31 May (unless you can hand deliver), but it will be proof of informing them on time.
    Best wishes

As always (after all he IS the expert here) Theo has some really useful advice. I'm so old-fashioned I wondered if they would accept e--mail but his suggestion gives you the best of both modern & traditional.
