Dear Theo, Can an Exec Summary ever be a negative?

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by s4mm13, Nov 19, 2011.

  1. I'm in the process of applying for a couple more jobs and am having an experienced teacher friend look over the content of my apps and letters/statements.
They have questioned whether the schools I'm applying to have asked for an executive summary, and being a worryaholic (thinking I should use this as my tes name instead!!) am concerned that in some circumstances an exec sum can actually go against me...
Have you ever had experience of this or negative responses from Headteachers?

Not that I've experience of interview shortlisting myself, but I would have thought anything which made it easier to 'tick off' criteria quickly and easily would give one a better chance of making that shortlist!
