Dear Theo- application and 'concise' letter?

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by f.a.b, Mar 8, 2012.

  1. Hi Theo and all,

it's me again and I am still applying for jobs. Despite having done exec summaries and really improved my application, not had one interview over the past 2 years.

Anyway. I'm applying for a job at a college and it asks for a concise letter, CV (if you feel it to be helpful) and completed application form. There is no room for a statement in the form.

So my questions is, how many sides is concise? and can I still write a full page, or does it mean ' Dear x, I am applying for x position, please see enclosed my application and CV. I look forward..etc' and that's it?? or can I write quite a lot about myself with headings etc?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, two sides plus an exec summary will be OK, in my view. I have often seen 5, 6 or even 10 pages . . . that's why we say concise.
    Good luck here!
    Best wishes

A good executive summary really does help, you know. Just read what this poster says that the Head said about hers:
Dear Theo - Thank you!! So do persevere with them!
    Best wishes
