Dear Theo (and others!):Referring to Ofsted in application?

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by becky70, Apr 23, 2011.

  1. Good advice from Lara and to answer Q3 perhaps you could ring the school and ask for a copy of the person spec. In my area, it often isn't posted on the website and you have to contact the school directly.

Pick up a person spec when you visit, or at least ask.

I have mentioned ofsted and been appointed and mentioned it and not even been interviewed.

If the inspection isn't very old, it is relevant and there is space then mention it. If not, don't.

Some good advice here from our friends who have been holding the fort while I was away - thanks Minnie and Lara!
Q1 If the Ofsted is not too old, then mention it. Over 12 or 18 months, they should have got it sorted by now
Q2 It is ALWAYS worth applying even if there are "favoured" or internal candidates. No-one is going to deliberately appoint a second-best candidate. Go for it!
Q3 Find a similar job on the TES Jobs and use their job spec. Head your columns something like; A suitable candidate would have.... I have
    Best of luck!
