You win a Bronze Award for asking me a question where I haven't the faintest idea.
    You could Google, I suppose.
But my view is that if you don't know, then you probably haven't got experience of developing and delivering it.
    Good luck

  4. Typo? ECM - as there are 5 "themes" to Every Child Matters. Could you not ask the school?

  6. It definitely has ELM on person spec however on reflection could be ECM.

Just to throw some light on this, it is not an actual teaching position but a mentoring role.

  7. Hello, Was wondering if it'd be worth phoning the school and asking, perhaps phrasing it in such a way as it may have been called something else at your school. At least that way you would know, and if it is a mistake you haven't highlighted it. I may be wrong about calling the school though...

  8. ELM - Every Learner Matters?
I'm guessing it's more or less the same thing as Every Child Matters, but for Further Education.

  9. Yes, ELM means every learner matters-another name for every child matters, and yes, the term is used in post 16 education. However, my FE college still uses the term every child matters, so I don't think it's exclusive to FE.

Theo, do I get a star for answering a question you couldn't answer?

  11. Well I ended up calling the college and the HR couldn't help me but she said not to worry about it too much. She did take my number and later left me a message on my answering machine stating it meant Education Learning Maintenance. I automatically thought this could be another acronym for EMA. So, how do you deliver this???

I have sent it off now so will see what happens. Thanks for all your help.
