Dear Theo - advice for writing to HODs or cover

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by sami_jones, Sep 14, 2011.

  1. Dear Theo,
I work in a school 4 days a week teaching PE but am looking to do cover for 1 day a week. My HOD has given me email contacts for all the other HODs in my area.

I have no idea what I am going to write in the email - advice please.

    Thanks

Be polite - use their surname not first name.
Say that your HoD has suggested that you write to them to enquire about cover.
Tell them what your experience and qualifications are.
    Give them your availability.
And above all, above all: write a separate and individual e-mail to each one, NOT a general round robin!
    Good luck
