Dear James: Failed first school placement :-( What are the options now?

Discussion in 'Trainee and student teachers' started by scrummylicious, Feb 2, 2012.

  1. I would say that your friend certainly shouldn't think this is the end of their teacher training. When I completed my course (undergrad) there were many people who failed placements, I remember one who failed all 3 block placements! Amazement never ceases :)

Your friend needs to find a sympathetic tutor at uni who can help them to dissect exactly what went wrong on this placement and produce an action plan to address these concerns during the repeated placement. The experience of friends shows that universities generally have a bank of schools who are adept at supporting resit placement students and I would hope that your friend would be offered something similar.

Feel free to PM me if you need anything else.

    Good luck to your friend.
