Dear James - do I have to retrain after 3 years?

Discussion in 'Trainee and student teachers' started by LadyQuark, Jul 19, 2011.

  1. Hi James

I have just done the GTP, but do not have an NQT post for next year (this isn't a huge concern). What is a concern is that a colleague I spoke to this morning said that if I am out of "the business" for 3 years I have to do training again. I asked her if she meant the old time limit on the gap between ITT and NQT, but she said she didn't.

I thought that once you had QTS, you had it forever.

Can you clear this up? Thank you.
