Dear Clare, Timing of Governor Elections

Discussion in 'Governors' started by knowmanythings, Mar 14, 2011.

  1. Is there a requirement of a maximum time in which an election for a governing body vacancy should take place? Our support staff governor post was vacant for a major part of a year - despite the postholder giving advance notification of her intention to stand down and a replacement having put herself forward.
  2. Thank you.
  3. The Regulations do not specify how soon an election should take place after a vacancy arises, but it is good practice for the election to take place as soon as possible
