Dear Charlie, Can I train to teach with a 3rd class honors?

Discussion in 'Thinking of teaching' started by SallyMartin, Jun 16, 2015.

  1. Hello,

I am after a bit of advice.. I have a 3rd class BA in Childhood Education and wondered what my options were for teaching? Most universities seem to only accept people with 2:2 as a minimum. Can I 'top up' my degree in any way?

I have been working in education for 10 years (3yrs teaching assistant, 6yrs autism outreach worker in nurseries/schools and now in a school as speech and language support worker). I also did nursery nurse diploma at college before uni and have relevant grades for English, maths, sci gcse.

    I'd appreciate any feedback! :)

    Thanks,

    Sal
