We have recently admitted a LAC (7 year old boy) with severe behavioural issues. Does anyone have a list of de-escalation statements which we could display around school, so all staff use the same words? Thanks so much in advance. Laura

If he has significant behavioural issues has he had EP input ? They are usually spot on with providing this kind of advice and then you could use these suggestions to aim for the consistency of language from the staff you seek. Sometimes writing a short pen profile and having a focused meeting to disseminate information is useful. Also removing ' don't from any reminders re behaviour / conduct can be helpful. Be mindful also of body language and tone.
