We're going to stay near Sidmouth next week and are taking the bikes (5 adults + 2yr old). I'm finding info on traffic free cycling up the Exe estuary but wondered if anyone knows anything else about easy cycling down there. I've used the Sustrans site but it's very slow on my laptop and the info is not always completely clear.

Search for the Tarka trail, could drive up to Bideford in N Devon for this or Okehampton [both on old railway tracks]. Exe Estuary ride is great.

It's one heck of a trek from East Devon to North Devon! It's not quite so bad to Oke, but I'd stay in and around East Devon if I were you. I don't know what cycling opportunities there are around Sidmouth and Exmouth, but I feel sure there are plenty!

Thanks. Topsham to Exmouth was great.
