While I have been gladdened in recent weeks to have been joined by so many Sisters & Brothers of the Oat, still I recognise that some people have other tastes and that provision must be made for their teatime. So:

Ugh. Crumpets taste like glue once you start chewing.
    Also, I have déja vu.

This really ruins memories. It was bad enough having mumbling Sylvester Stallone. Warburtons stuff is rubbish anyway, and overpriced. More so now that they are forking out millions for advertising that will not increase their sales, except vaguely due to "pester power".

I like crmpets, but pikelets are much better.

Apparently coal tar is carcinogenic. Who knew.

I like a bit of hot crumpet in the morning (that's how I started today)

I'm not particular keen on the Warburton offerings but they are very cheap (and readily available) compared to the locally sourced ones I prefer

I think English crumpets are awful - always a disappointment but I've only tasted the supermarket ones, so maybe being unfair. They remind me of the flour and water dampers we used to make (and eat!) at Guide camp.

I'm very fond of pikelets and love Scottish crumpets which are a sort of a cross between thinner Scotch pancakes and large pikelets.

Crumpets are nice but very difficult to achieve the right toastiness level when toasting!

If you think Warburtons stuff is cheap you are shopping in the wrong place!

That put a long overdue smile on my face this morning.

Horrible leaden things. Gave them up years ago because they gave me dreadful indigestion.

That reminds me of a rude joke. Q. What's fat and pink and comes in the morning? A. The Financial Times.
