Could anybody point me in the right direction for the rules about disapplication of KS1 SATs? We have a boy in Year 2 who has just joined us from Poland and has no spoken English. I understand that a child who has spent less than 18 months in UK is exempt from SATs.

  3. You can't disapply them from all - you have to record a W for speaking and listening, reading and writing and a D for mathematics and science attainment targets.
    You're thinking of KS2 data.
  4. Year 2 SAT's are an extra form of teacher assessment so there's no need to disqualify him.
