Crisis cleaning

  1. Unfortunately my daughter is away for a couple of days, before we fly over to the UK.
And an unplanned visit is descending on me tomorrow afternoon.
    This is my plan:
Hide everything in drawers, cupboards and the kids bedroom.
    Wipe down bathroom.
Hide laundry in the laundry bin and washing machine.
Hide kitchen stuff in oven and fridge.
    Mop floor.
Blame the dirty windows on the weather.
Have a bottle of white wine chilled.
    Have I forgotten anything?

  3. Cushions... brush 'em down and plump 'em up - makes any room look tidy(er) instantly!

Answer the door in nightie and rollers, they may not get past the hall! [IMG]

  4. Haha!
Seeing as I have done sod all today, that may be the answer!

Check down the gaps between the seat cushions on the settees/armchairs and down the sides and back. Why is it that visitors put their hands down there?
Stand at the door of the living room and look in every direction. What will your visitor see?

Squirt some polish in the air - makes it smell like you've dusted when you haven't! (Doesn't work so well if there is a thick layer of dust everywhere though, as might be the case here sometimes [IMG] )

Or just do what you are comfortable with and they take you as they find you.

PC jr has spotted that Mil visiting sparks cleaning hysteria here! [IMG]

  7. Now they've gone take whatever went into the oven OUT!
Or when you get back from your hols you could make an awful mistake and cook all your teatowels [IMG]

  8. The argument was totally petty, but we often lose our temper with one another over nothing.
But we did make up and don't worry, my tea towels are not in the oven [IMG]
(My son did point out that HIS room is now a mess and it is all my fault)
