I have written a covering letter for previous applications, however this one specifically mentions that separate letter of application should also be provided with reference to suitability for the post - how would I go about setting this out? I'm thinking with a paragraph at the beginning stating the job I am applying for and what appeals to me about the post. Then paragraphs for some of the key parts from the person spec and how I meet them.
    Many Thanks,
    B

One thing that we bang on about a lot in the seminars on How to Get A Job, is that the letter must show how you meet their needs.
The needs of that specific school.
So having "A Covering Letter" that you use often may not hit the nail on the head - you need to make it really specific to that school.
So relating it to their person and/or job spec is the way to go.
Make sure that you open the welcome thread at the top, and read the FAQs and shortlisting clickables inside.
    Good luck!
