  1. Hi I am currently on teacihng placement and following a maths unit that the teacher has given me. The begginning of one of the lessons invovles singing a counting in twos rhyme such as 2,4,6,8 does anyone know the lyrics to this or to any other counting in 2's/ even number rhymes or games we could play

    Thanks

  3. we have musical statues but when the music stops get into pairs 'find a partner'or we do ring o roses or row row your boat in twos.
also in a circle game make sure they have plenty of space.
On this foot i have one shoe
on the other foot I have another shoe (pointing)
one shoe one shoe (hold one finger and one hand then a finger on other and put tog)
    that makes two
    AAAAAA tishue
on the aaaaaa bring your knees up to your chest curve your back and fall backwards putting your feet tog in the air.
You will need to demonstrate this and make sure they curl their spine or they will hurt themselves.
the children absolutly love this and the rhyme is a good way of adding 1 and 1 tog to get 2 some of the children say thats 11 when you are holding your 2 sep finger up tog.
Now the rhyme let me think if i can fit the tune into a well know one!!i cant at mo but will keep singing it for inspiration!

Hello, the kids love this action rhyme

Double 1 is 2. (Put up 1 index finger then the other)
Tap them on your shoe. (tap shoes)

    Double 2 is 4.
Stamp it on the floor (stamp feet)

    Double 3 is 6.
Do some finger clicks (click fingers)

    Double 4 is 8.
    Put your arms up straight

    Double 5 is 10.
Let?s begin again (roll hands around each other)

Repeat 3 times getting quicker each time

    Last time?

    Double 5 is 10.
Hide them in the den (hands behind back)

There are some suggestions/activities on these sites which might give you some ideas.
