Hi, I'm in the process of applying for teacher training, related to my degree specialism (Sociology/HSC). However, for the last 14 years, I've worked successfully in project management in the private/corporate sectors across many specialisms such as Finance, HR, IT, Customer Service, Org Design, Policy, Marketing. I'm in a senior management position and have worked extensively across many business related topics. I also have many vocational qualifications in Management & Leadership (L4), PRINCE 2 project management methodology, I'm an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, etc etc. I feel I have a wealth of work related experience and knowledge and I would love to think I could also teach Business Studies, as I am as passionate about Business as I am my degree subject and ITT specialism. Could I sell this as my second subject - would schools welcome this type of experience and knowledge into the Business Studies classroom, without having a relevant degree and training in a different specialism? I'm keen to be as employable as possible, and would love to think my work experience to date would also make me a good candidate for teaching another subject. Any advice/info appreciated. Thanks.
