DId you know that pastie pastry is best made with strong (white) flour? It makes a lovely crust. Bake high then slow. The filling, skirt beef, swede, onion and potato, lots of pepper and salt. You can make a vege version using potato, parsnip and cheese. Or Samosa filling, spicy with coriander. Just to take your mind off our crisisussses. I highly recommend the making of pasties for the soul of the nation.
