He is so happy! He's really keen for his leg to heal so he can look after me!
We weren't going to start properly trying until August but obviously fate intervened!
He's going to be a great Dad! He rang his Dad earlier and he's just so excited. His parents are really excited about their first grandchild.
  3. ach, I could get all broody again...
  4. Congratulations EG -and Mr EG too of course. That is very exciting news. I am pleased for you both

    Hey....terrific news...another Cookery baby!

I am highly unlikely to ever be a Cookery bride...and never a Cookery Mum....so does this give me carte-blanche to be thoroughly disreputable for the next few years?...There's got to be an upside!

Oooooh, can I be an Auntie? One to thoroughly spoil the child, got a feeling it's a girl, and give her nail varnish and make-up at a thoroughly inappropriate age.

Bloody hell, 1 day away from the forum and there's babies appearing all over the place...well...a little exaggeration, but...
It's been mentioned on a few threads so I'll offer congratulations on this one - Huge congrats EG and MrEG. Join the club! Very exciting news indeed! If we can give any tips at all (I know there's a wealth of experience on here, but I suppose it's still very fresh for us!) then let us know
Just 4 weeks to do til due date for us. Mrs909 has ballooned all of a sudden - she's still on the small side - at the smaller end of the normal scale that is, but she's grown quite a lot in the last couple of weeks. All the weight's on the front though - she's a tall, slim lass - you could It still look at her from behind and not know, although the pregnant "waddle" gives things away a bit. The baby is obviously running out of room as well as it is causing a bit of pain with the stretching about now. Something that was clearly a foot was bulging out of her belly as we had our morning cuppa in bed.
It seems to have taken after us and loves its food as it always has a little dance and a wriggle after she's eaten or drunk something. It's certainly had a varied diet in there, so fingers crossed it'll like its grub when it starts weaning!
    Great news anyway, EG.
In other news, Ladymarm, who pops along on the forum from time to time has got one due as well. I expect she'll be along soon to let everyone know how she's getting on.

Thanks, Nick. I will probably be taking you up on the offer of advice as soon as I get used to the idea of a little bean growing inside me!

I think you'll find its Mrs Got a Wee EGkiddie Growing Inside Me, if you don't mind! [IMG]
As for the photos, they are currently being developed by the photographer. I would have some to show you if my M-in-L hadn't insisted that disposable cameras were "too common". I mean, honestly!

  11. Hello- thanks for remembering me Nick! Glad your wife is ok, sounds uncomfortable now though! many congratulations EG- really exciting news.
We have had a hellish week as found out that our unborn baby is poorly and will need a stomach operation as soon as he/she is born in a specialist hospital a couple of hundred mles from us. it is very very scary but we are trying to be brave. Im not due for 9 weeks but have been warned that am unlikely to get to full term because of the complications which have just been discovered. We are so nervous but can't wait to me baby, get him/her well and take them home to the family asap. Best wishes to you all xx

Ladymarm, just wanted to say my best friend's baby was born with a serious gastro-intestinal problem, meaning he had no way of poo-ing, and required extensive surgery to re-plumb him (that's a technical term!). It was all scary at the time, but he's now a big, strong 8 and a half year old, and you'd never know that there'd ever been anything so serious wrong with him at birth. He's the absolutel picture of health, and I'm sure Mastermarm will be just that, too. Hang on in there.

  17. Ladymarm - a friend of mine went through that. Wee boy was born and couldn't poo properly, he was all bunged up, so to speak - sorry, I have no technical term.
But it was all sorted really quickly and easily and he is now a big, huge 11 year old playing football with my son!
My own daughter was born with an umbilical hernia - all went well. She is in there playing footie with the lads!
Much strength to you - I know it is a worry xxxx
  18. Thank you for sharing personal stories. i really appreciate your good wishes. Thanks so much x
Hope you are ok EG and eating a weird and wonderful sweet/savoury dinner!
