Converting PGCE PCET to full QTS

Discussion in 'Social sciences' started by emailguyandsally, Nov 16, 2007.

  1. Hi All,

I just wanted to add to this debate and get some advice concerning my situation. I have a PGCE in PCET and teach Early Years & Health & Social Care in a Specialist FE college (16+) (College for the Deaf or hearing impaired). My degree is in Culture & Communication (first) and I have various level 3 childcare quals and experience, I am also programme leader for my department. I love my job but am now thinking of the next stage in my career progression and to become a Peripetetic Teacher of the Deaf - I need QTS. I understand there is a way to achieve this through assessment only QTS with some observation requirements. I understand that I am required to evidence compliance with several standards - Can you help at all with advising me of my best options and give me any more information on assessment only QTS? Thanks Sal
