Contemplating early retirement - advice appreciated.

    Wow. It looks gorgeous but what will it be like to leave everything and everybody here and live there all the time? Or are you keeping a place here too?

    There are no branches of Waitrose in Bulgaria, as far as I know, but Veliko Tarnovo and Sofia have Metro, which is very similar to Cash and Carry in the UK. Therefore you can get Heinz salad cream, baked beans and most of the other British foods, if you want them. On the other hand, you can also buy good Bulgarian wine cheaper than in the UK. We are just round the corner from Greece, so there is an excellent selection of olives at very reasonable prices. The markets are the best places to buy fruit and veg. They are usually better than the shops.

    To answer Sundaytrekker's question, no, we do not have a property in the UK, but there are plenty of cheap flights from Bulgaria to the UK, so it is easy for us to visit or else we can have friends from the UK to come and stay with us.
