Confused...

  1. Thanks for your help - that's what I thought too. I know I won't be getting qualified teacher pay until September so the letter is probably just stating the official job start date isn't it?
    I'll call them tomorrow and double check.

    Do call and politely clarify the situation. If you are given a post that runs over the summer holiday then the school must pay you on the qualifued scale from the date that you get QTS. Your provider will recommend you for QTS to the GTCE at the end of your course, then the GTC will issue a certificate that is dated. You mustr then be paid on the qualifed scale (if the contract you have is a teaching one from that date, not the 1st September.
