Computer Readers for examinations

Discussion in 'Assessment' started by aqapop, Jun 11, 2013.

  1. I'm interested in knowing if any schools or colleges use a computer reader, such as Read & Write Gold, instead of a 'human' reader in examinations?

We are becoming inundated with students who have access to use of a reader for their examinations, and we are struggling to staff the need; on top of which, a lot of these students then do not use the reader for every exam.

Since JCQ are now stating that computer readers can be used instead, I really would like to know if anyone has had any success with using this concession as it sounds like a great idea in theory...?
