Did you manage?
still no joy
I have even tried following the instructions for a Factory Reset, but it still wants the ***** password!
Will ask nerdy son what you can do. He's out ATM but will get advice from him later or tomorrow.
Did you try Admin and Password as the passwords? They are the normal ones
NOT if set up be a 'clever' teenager/20 year old!
Very true but OP said it was an old school laptop so I thought it might be possible that it has the original password
I seem to remember you can do:
Ctrl Alt-del twice
This gives you a log in prompt
User name Administrator
Sorry was confusing it with the OP other thread!
I don't suppose you have a recovery disc for it? Does anyone else have one in school?
The whole point of passwords is that they aren't supposed to be easy to get round - might have to reinstall OS to make the laptop useable?
It could be skipping past the settings too quickly for you to catch with a F key press. Try holding F2 as you power the laptop on.
You want the Bauble fellow, he's brilliant with these new-fangled interweb machines.
I set a password on my new laptop and promptly forgot what it was! Luckily nerdy son was able to sort it out for me. No idea how.
Have spoken with nerdy son. What version of Windows is it? He's at work now but may be able to advise when he gets home.
