I have had to give up alcohol ( I need to diet and now I have also developed gouty arthritis in my thumbs/ wrists ! ) so mine is now an iced Latte , lots of ice, per favore ! Perhaps a white wine wouldn`t hurt , what do you think ? It is the reds that set off my gouty arthritis pains . No more port or Bordeaux for me .Sob !! Even worse , no shellfish !

Can you do a nice bruschetta, with tuna and chilli oil , perhaps washed down with an iced latte, please. My local deli is great but a) a bit expensive and b) my waistline is struggling a lot now . A virtual treat might help me out a bit !

Loving being a new grandmother too! Any of that champagne left? Or shall I open a new bottle? It's probably a bit flat now.

a bit of creme de cassis adds something if the champagne's a bit flat.

God, it's all changed around here...
    Look at the decor...
What happened to the horse brasses?
...I don't know, you go away for a few years at Her Majesty Pleasure, come back to an old haunt and find it's been over run by hipsters, whingers, wannabes, wannahaves and self-proclaimed Messiahs...
So many beards.....I'm surprised it's not a bleedin' Starbucks...
...A pint of Evostik please, Fifi...
    ..Hey, you remembered...well almost...
    ...No umbrella, ta...
...And a packet of Frog Leg Scratchings...
    ...thanks...and get one for yourself....
...no, love, a drink, not a scratching....you know I don't ever share my scratchings....
    ...cheers...
    ...Jeez, smile for chrissakes...
...Brexit can't come soon enough for my liking...
...What's that? Chai latte? Seriously...you just made that up?
    No?
Hey.......Has Pierre Import been in lately?
    ..No?...
    You surprise me...
...I wonder what ever happened to him....
    ...He always liked a drink...
    ...or four...decent bloke, that...

    ..Right, that's me done...bye...
....I may come back this way one day....
    ...but then again...

    ...don't hold your breath...
... Now, where did I put my umbrella?...

    Toadman,

Fifi barred somebody from here some years ago for an incident involving a wellington boot, a baguette, a shot glass, and a mirror on a stick.

    Was that you?

If so, I think I've still got one of your socks and a beermat with your teeth marks in it...

Just popped in for a quick one with Fifi, but it seems we'll have to wait until the other customers have gone...

It's busier than usual in here tonight, probably due to the long weekend...

Just looking around, I can see some familiar faces...

To the far right, old Jean-Marie's daughter is in and, from the ranting, I guess she has had one too many again. Today, she is threatening to annexe Disneyland. She keeps ranting about the good old days (personally, I never watched it) and how Franck was so much better than Yuri and how she'd take Franck back in a heartbeat...

It's so hard to keep up with her ex-es these days and you never know if it's the absinthe talking or she really means it...

In the centre, that old Madame Trogneux is giving Marine "the look". They don't get on...

She's brought her young son in with her again. Such a nice boy, Emmanuel. And the way he looks out for her....if I didn't know any better, I'd think there was more to that relationship meets the eye...

Apparently, there is some friction between their two families which they're hoping to sort out next Sunday with a friendly game of boules in the square...

Well, I suppose I should go and do something productive...

    Until next time...

Yeah! Nearly time for this year's round of exams. I recommend the chocolate cake if you're more stressed out than the students.

    Sunday night pint...
    Quiet in here again...
    Are they closed? No...?
..I think Fifi's fallen asleep on the job again...
    ...not for the first time....
..,I'm so glad that this place is so close to the bus stop...
    ..Ah...she stirs.....and she's waking up, too...
...Fifi, it's Sam....a large glass of that Absinthe you keep under le comptoir for rainy days please....
    ..thanks, murky bouquets....
    ...How much? Seriously?!?!?!
..Really? Do I get to keep the glass?...
    ..No?....
    ...Do you accept bitcoin yet?
    ...No? I didn't think so....
...I've got thousands of the things from NHS England but nobody will take them...
Aaaah! Tha's good... Same again, please...

Has @BrightonEarly been in today? No? I didn't think so...
...She asked for an explanation of the wellington boot incident....
...Do you remember? Was it three, no four years ago?....
    Yes!...That gendarme was furious!
I've heard he couldn't get any of that Brie off his truncheon...and the baguettes were ruined!!!...
...Anyway if you see her, could you give her this catalogue?
No, I've no idea why she would want it....I was quite surprised too....
Yes, it is a bit soggy.... I blame the weather...
    Well, that's my bus....
    ...Au revoir....Hasta lego...

    Haha! I've kept the glass.....!!!!
