There were no teaspoons in the drawer and I needed coffee- I needed it quickly. I'm not proud of this but I guessed the amount of coffee needed and shook the jar into a mug. The coffee was...

I used to do that all the time at work. It was easier than having to find and sterilise a teaspoon.

Maybe this is an opportunity to discuss inventive ideas for repurposing alternative items for culinary uses when we lack them. Looking at the wine bottle on my desk that is awaiting being opened, I could imagine the top might serve as a means to measure coffee. I like to be able to taste my coffee, so I reckon 3/4 full might be about right. If it ain't, I could add a bit more.

Take your own teaspoon in. I had a selection of my own paraphernalia at work: mug, knives, fork, spoon, teaspoons, chopping board, scourer/sponge, teabags etc.

[I did however have my own lockable pedestal; without that, things would have been tricky.]
