To increase my employability, would you recommend getting more unique and unusual coaching qualifications such as Tchoukball Level 1 or American Flag Football Leaders Award? This obviously would be alongside other more mainstream qualifications such as Level 1 Football Coaching etc.

    The more the merrier!

I don't know any schools that teach Tchoukball, so while it may be an interesting "ice breaker" at an interview, unless the school wants to introduce it, it's not a deal breaker. In saying that, I've never taught in a school where my Australian Rules Football qualifications were used.

I would expect to see at least a level 2 award in your specialist sport plus as many as you can do in the following sports

    Athletics
    Basketball
    Cricket
    Football
Gymnastics (& trampolining as a bonus!)
    Hockey
    Rugby
    Volleyball
Racquet sport - badminton / tennis
    Swimming (with lifesaving qualification)

I would also be looking for a first aid qualification including CPR

See if your university will provide these courses or, at least subsidise the cost. In my days, my Uni did but then again, we also had these strange things called "grants"
