You could try searching on the poetry archive - it is searchable by topic and often has the poems read aloud by the poet. http://www.poetryarchive.org/childrensarchive/home.do

The Time Machine-by HG Wells might be a possibility-there are film and novel versions, and Wells, together with Jules Verne would be good authors to look at. The Iron Man suits all ages!

There is also a Y5 unit on www.emmarogers.org.uk on FaRther. An amazing picture book. Not exactly about space, but about the dream to achieve flight which would be a good starting point e.g. why do people strive to get into space..?
There are also loads of picture books about trying to get into space - like Oliver Jeffers Up and Down. If you contact me through my website i can send you links to them.

    Great thank you.

The topic is names 'space and flight' so it would be very fitting.
