Anyone spotted any promising Christmas TV. I love the special University Challenge but can't say I've really paid attention to anything else coming up.

Sherlock is a costume drama this time. I don't enjoy those.

Didn't know he had a bendy richard.

The Dickens mash-up. I am in two minds about that as a die-hard Dickens fanatic but I suppose I ought to try it.

I have to admit I'm finding it harder and harder to watch commercial TV with all the interminable ads.

I lived in Canada for a while, it's even worse over there - I think I'm right in saying that they are allowed 14 minutes of ads per hour.

I gave up trying to watch anything other than sitcoms in the end.

There's an Agatha Christie, with a good cast they say, including Aiden Turner. I would watch it for that alone!

I'm looking forward to that. Tony Jordan knowns how to drive a story on TV and anything with Anton Lesser in it is bound to be worth watching.

I'll also be watching David Walliams' Billionaire Boy. He's a great children's writer.

TV is, generally speaking, a load of manure [ the website won't let me write carp].

Christmas TV is manure garnished with holly, fake snow, fairy lights, mistletoe and spurious bonhomie.

And, as is well known, you can't polish a turd.

I hate to contradict you but you can :)

Doesn't make the Christmas TV schedules any better though :(
