Christian Utilitarianism

    I have found this noted on some CCEA A Level Ethics mark schemes. Can anyone explain this. My understanding was that Christianity and Utilitarianism was incompatible - have I missed something? Any advice would be appreciated

    They may be referring to Situation Ethics - it is sometimes labelled that way.

    There is (or was) such a thing as Christian Utilitarianism.
