will you marry me?
Nah, you will end up eating all the B&JCDIC and end up fat!
On second thoughts you know about wine and have a nice house... go on then!
Did you think I had another motive?
That's why I said "like". Metaphor, innit.
Using 'like' would make it a simile.
The silk purse and the sows ear are the metaphor bit.
Ok, tonight's question
With a nice glass of white, should I accompany it with quavers or degestive biscuits?
Stop trying to influence my eating habits again! I have had 2 glasses of wine tonight. The 1st with crisps and the 2nd with a scone. So I suppose what I am saying is go for 2 glasses of wine and both!
I want something to munch but deliberately avoided the naughty sectrion in Tesco earlier, am not regretting it ;(
Chocolate is practically a health food. Have that with the wine and feel saintly. Then, after you've had some more wine (maybe lots more) you get the munchies. At that point the Hula hoops will come in handy. Unless you've got something really good to go with wine like Monster Munch Pickled Onion flavour, or some top quality Cheese and Onion crisps. In the absence of a nextdoor Kebab house, its the best option.
Have had to settle for an ACtica yoghurt (81 cals) so am sulking
Erm... slight problem... I have just opened the second bottle!
Oops I'm 2 days behind the times. With white wine, definitely digestives, with whatever cheese you can dredge up out of the fridge (dairylea spread, manky old blue goats cheese, whatever)...then the quavers as the end of the bottle is in sight! Unless you can find some pringles.
I appear to have opened a second bottle.... oops
The quavers are meant to be a treat for the little one!
In fact, the digestives are also hers... just don't let her know!
I've gone on to gin and tonic and it's only 10 o clock.. We shall probably both regret it in the morning - never mind the calories in the food!
Oh cheese! My mother used to make me digestives with soft cheese
Stick a dollop of jam on the top and voila - intstant mini cheesecake!
