Character profile or character study features

I'm really hoping someone out there can shed some light here-I'm a bit confused!
My first year 4 English write was going to be getting the children to write a character study of a character from our class novel.
However, I can find very little on the features of a character study out there. I was looking for success criteria in terms of language features to help me write a model example but couldn't find anything.
Am I write in saying that a character profile or study should provide a description of the character's behaviour, personality, appearance and any changes in the character throughout the book?
I would be so grateful if anyone could point me in the direction of a good example suitable for Lks2 .

    Many thanks
