Changing subject you teach

Discussion in 'English' started by firefox2367895647, Feb 2, 2012.

  1. Hi, I was wondering if anyone could advise me on how easy/difficult it is to pick up your second subject. I want to change from RE to English. Has anyone done this before?

First port of call is to mention it to your line manager, to see if it's possible to observe.get involved in the dept. in your own school. Without some experience another school is unlikely to consider you.
But what qualifications do you have to make them entertain your suitablility to teach English?
  3. And talk to the SLT person who does the timetable - as they are probably the same person who's responsible for the staffing. It might need to be a gradual change - a couple of lessons in one year, building it up slowly until you tip from one subject to the other.
