The burgandy book defines continous service as working as a teacher for "one or more LEAs". I'm in discussion with my school about this at the moment as start mat leave in Sept and only began at my current LEA in Sept last. My union have been 100% clear on this - you are entitled to full maternity benefits if you have worked for more than a year continuously as a teacher, regardless of changing LEAs. However, you must also have worked for your current employer for more than 26 weeks by the time you're 28weeks preg, so that means that you can't fall preg too soon if you want the full benefits. Hope that makes sense!

Is that 26 weeks or 26 months?? 26 weeks is about 6months right?
