Challenges for top mathematicians in year 6

Discussion in 'Primary' started by lixy, Nov 23, 2012.

  1. I have 3 children working at a 5A in maths. I'd like to send home more challenging maths problems for their homework but I'm struggling to find any. The 'mathematical challenges for more able pupils in KS2' document is not stretching them enough. Any ideas?

They key with the challenges in this document is to add a 'what if...' dimension to the questions, encouraging them to pose their own as well as answering yours.
They can be extended infinitely if you do this well.

Loads of challenges in this book as well:
