Cat and/or Dog songs

Discussion in 'Music' started by anon4561, Oct 14, 2011.

  1. Am trying to compile a list of cat/dog songs (don't ask!) appropriate for senior school students to perform.
    Have
Matchstalk Men and Matchstalk Cats and Dogs
Stray Cat Strut - The Stray Cats
    Somebody's Moggy- Eric Bogle
The Cat's in the Cradle - Harry Chapin

    Have rejected
    Black Dog = Led Zeppelin
    Diamond Dogs - David Bowie
    for having inappropriate lyrics.
Would also like some cat/dog songs for upper primary = years 5/6
Doesn't have to have cat/dog in the title... anything in the lyrics referring to cats or dogs would be fine.
Also any instrumental music that has cat/dog in title (have a brilliant little choreographist on my hands.........)
Also looking for some cat/dog poems which I'll post on English, but if you have any ideas......

    Thanks!

    PETS
Pets are a godsend to people who enjoy the company of small animals. Cats, for example, are very popular. As are dogs. We had a dog once called Rover, but he died. So now we don't call him anything.

I'm not frightened of ***** Cats
I'm not frightened of ***** Cats,
They only eat up mice and rats,
    But a Hippopotamus
    Could eat the Lotofus!
    Spike Milligan
    Howard
There was a young puppy called Howard,
    Who at fighting was rather a coward;
    He never quite ran
    When the battle began,
But he started at once to bow-wow hard.
    A.A. Milne

I'll have to leave it now and get on with some housework [IMG] - but I will think more about songs for the younger children.

  17. How much is that doggy in the window? (Showing my age here).
The cat's got the measles (sung to the tune of The Keel Row).
    Daddy wouldn't buy me a bow-wow.

    (I'll get me coat) . . [IMG]
