Can anyone signpost me to finding a really good recipe for carrot cake??
Carrot cake is delicious but wrong, wrong, wrong.
Starbucks call it passion cake, to lure in women who are unlucky in love.
That is wrong too.
I was offered 'hot carrot cake' for breakfast on a Singapore airlines flight last week. It described the cake as being made from radish and turnip. The mere thought made me feel nauseous. And it didn't half pen and ink.
Is this an oxymoron?
A good carrot cake is lovely. It does not taste of carrot - the veg provides the moisture.
The same as in potato or beetroot cake. The cake does not taste of veg.
I think it might have ginger or something like that in it which is what I don't like.
I don't like the flavour of oil in cakes, which most carrot cake recipes include, so substitute melted butter. I agree with CQ that a good carrot cake is delicious.
I have a recipe for carrot cake which has always been very well received when I've baked it. If you PM your email address I can scan it and email it to you. It's too much to type into a post here.
If it's as good as your PowerPoint it will be amazing!
Do you know what the flavour is in shop bought carrot cake that makes me not like it?
Could be. I don't like cinnamon. I always think carrot cake looks yummy but it tastes horrid!
The carrot cake in Costa Coffee tastes evil.
I don't have cinnamon in my recipe.
I'll have to invire you for tea!
Look forward to it Marlin. I would ask for your recipe but I'd never use it.
Thank you - have sent you a message
