Can I 'return' from maternity leave during a school holiday?

Discussion in 'Pay and conditions' started by jenga079, Feb 15, 2012.

  1. I am currently on maternity leave and was originally planning to return to work for the week before the Easter holidays. However, weaning my son is not proving easy and I think that three extra weeks (the week before Easter, plus the two week holiday) could make all the difference and mean that I could return to work more confident that he'd be settled at nursery. If i do this, can I name my return to work date as the first day of the holiday (and therefore be paid for it?!) Anyone know?

Yep - Any day you like regardless of holidays or weekends. For more info download my Maternity Matters Handbook from the resource section of this website - you can find it under my user name. :)

  4. Thank you! Looks like you may teach the same subjects as me too. I'll be browsing your other resources too :)
