Can I legally take a full time job over the summer whilst still being paid by school for my teaching position?

Discussion in 'Pay and conditions' started by MissASmith, Apr 12, 2012.

  1. Hi there,

I have handed in my resignation as I'm going travelling in October and want to work over the summer holidays to raise more money before I leave. I will be still being paid by my school over the summer and would like to know what my legal/tax position would be in terms of taking on a full time job over the summer.

    Any advice is most welcome.

    Many thanks
  2. I see no problems as long as you declare your additional income on your tax return.
