Can i complete my induction term if i started 1 week late?

Discussion in 'New teachers' started by neilious, Jan 11, 2011.

  1. Hello all,
I've been asked to cover for a teacher who may be off school for 6-8 weeks, they may actually be off for longer. The cover started 1 week after the term had already started.
My question is if the teacher does not come back after the expected 6-8 weeks and i end up staying for the whole term (less one week) will this count towards induction?
do i have to apply for induction now? even though it is only initially 6-8 weeks cover, or wait until it turns into a whole term - or is it then too by late?
    i'm confused
