Cambridge Checkpoint

Discussion in 'Modern foreign languages' started by nick1981, Mar 22, 2011.

  1. I'm moving to an international school to set up a new French department in the new school year and they will be running the iGCSE and Cambridge Checkpoint exams. School's Principal has asked if we have any recommendations for text books. Having only used the godawful Metro books I'm looking for something new, up to date and interesting that will be suitable for the course. Does anyone have any ideas?

Checkpoint is only for English, Maths and Science. So what you do in KS3 is up to you. IGCSE - ask if it's edexcel or CIE. It'll make a small difference
If the students are good, then you could use Encore Tric. or the Metro replacement books - expo. These tend to be the favourite three.
Whichever you choose, it'll only form a very loose skeleton, so it's the extra resources and approach that will count.
