    Hello all,
I'm a non-specialist and have been asked to deliver the new BTEC in T&T starting this September... I've downloaded the SoW and the first unit from the Edexcel website, but it references a lot of materials and assumes subject knowledge I don't have. I've also bought an old text book (BTEC First Travel and Tourism, also by Pearson) to try and help me through. I know my LT are very keen for me to get out and about and visit local attractions with the students (27 of them!) but I'm not sure how best to exploit our very touristy local area to maximise the benefits for the kids.
So, kind TES forum-ers, if any of you have any knowledge, suggestions or pointers to help me out here I would be extremely grateful! Especially as I have my own GCSE to run as well, plus two other non-specialist subjects to deliver at KS3 this year...
    Many thanks - Soloyo

I'm in a similar position. I'm teaching GCSEs in three subjects, and on top of this I've been asked to deliver BTEC Travel and Tourism. Luckily I don't have a large number to teach at once (it's a special school with a lot of small group and 1:1 learning going on), but I'm totally unfamiliar with BTEC. Keen to read the responses!
