BTEC Photography Level 1 Award

Discussion in 'Art and design' started by chriselkin, Jan 7, 2012.

  1. Hey people, I've just started teaching BTEC Photography Level 1 with year 8s at my school. I'm also an NQT so not much experience with running courses.

I've tried familiarising myself with the assessment criteria but i'm unsure how to mark their work because I don't know what quality their working at because I haven't seen any BTEC photography work before. They are only studying 1 unit for the Level 1 Award.

Does anyone teach this course? Anyone got any advice. Ideally I'd like to see some work and a assessment sheet or something.

  2. Hi, I've just been 'assigned' to teach this as well and I have nothing to start off with! I'm just trying to get my head round the specifications etc, but if anyone has a SOW that I can look at and adapt, I'd be really grateful. Actually, any help would be gratefully received....

  3. I suppose 'assigned' means told; is it your subject area/specialism? Can other staff/department members not support/advise/help?
