Hi all - I teach Edexcel computer science GCSE at a mixed church 'comprehensive' school in Kent, where there is a selective education system. At Level 3, we've offered OCR and BTEC nationals in IT for the last 10 years or so. I've got a really talented group of computer scientists in year 10 and I'm thinking it's time to take the plunge and offer A Level computer science. Any advice in terms of boards to go with/courses to follow? Also, I personally like the new BTECs and think they're good for the typical profile of kids we have at our school. Any thoughts/advice on BTEC Computing ? Will it provide the right level of challenge for kids, I predict, will pick up 7s in GCSE Computer Science? Thanks Mike
