It is not enough for education to produce individuals who can read, write and count. Education must be transformative and bring shared values to life. It must cultivate an active care for the world and for those with whom we share it. "

A quote by UN secretary-general Ban Ki Moon and one that lies at the very heart of everything we do.

We think children deserve an education that helps them foster a greater understanding of the world so that they have the knowledge they need to develop as truly global citizens and the tools they need to shape a sustainable future that works to promote peace, active participation and mutual respect for mankind.

This publication is firmly aimed at supporting and working alongside the UN’s Global Education First Initiative – complimenting and underpinning the aims to ‘empower global citizens as an objective’ and to support young people to become “citizens of the world”.

1World News is , we believe the keystone publication in 1World Unite’s mission to empower learners to engage and assume active roles, both on a local and global level, and we need your help!

Working together we have an opportunity to secure social change and bring shared values to life helping future generations to live lives that respect people, place and planet in line with the UN's developments goals of 2016.

We look forward to hearing from you.

NOTE: 1World News is a 12 page monthly tabloid that looks to educate and inspire. Issue 1 looks at modern day slavery, the problems of waste, it looks at conservation, the song thrush, we talk endangered animals, water, cotton and the Aral sea and much much more. We have the next 6 issues all mapped out and are looking to include healthy recipes, guest writers and look to introduce a focus on companies and people we love.
