Boycott Cadbury's Chocolate this Christmas

The American owners, Irene Rosenfeld's Mondelez International, owe us tens of millions of pounds in tax.

    (TheSundayTimes.co.uk, 6th December 2015.)

You may remember that the takeover was agreed after Irene's firm agreed not to make anyone redundant and that once the deal went through she made hundreds of Britons redundant. Expect more of this if TTIP goes through.

Boycott Cadbury this Christmas and wipe the smile of Irene's face.

Excuse me, but why should I boycott a company who is acting quite lawfully?
Wouldn't it be a better plan to boycott those responsible for the laws that allow such behaviours?

Cadbury's chocolate tastes so horrible now that I never buy it anyway.

I've been inadvertently boycotting them since I became an adult and realised their chocolate wasn't very nice.

Kraft have a history of taking things over. We knew about Terry's of York when they took over Cadbury's. This is just more the same. A multinational maximising its profits probably within the law and trampling all over our ideas of what is morally correct.

A rather repulsive company. Here's a trip down memory lane.

There must be a plot somewhere that is designed to make us eat less chocolate, because none of it tastes any good these days. Thornton's is greasy, Cadbury's is greasy, Galaxy is fairly greasy. Not even very keen on the price ones.

So where do we go for decent chocolate?

Perhaps Kraft will realise that their alteration (cheapening) of the recipes, will have the effect of reducing their sales and attempting to maximise their profits in this questionable manner will not bring the rewards they hope for.

Tesco's own brand is fairly reminiscent to how I remember Cadbury's. It's half the cost of what Cadbury's is now.

Cadbury's are very poor quality chocolates - I go for either Lindt or Green & Black - much better! (Other good quality chocolates are, no doubt, available!)

Cadbury's is not what it was. As a grown-up (kind of) I always preferred Galaxy but the taste of Cadbury's buttons reminded me of easter eggs, and those little packets made of dark coloured plastic.

Now it just tastes of sweet fat. Another rotten influence from across the pond.

Yuk for strawberry cheesecake. It will be like all the soft centres in boxed chocs that make me heave.

I only like dark choc anyway and G&B is the best.
